Dear Joe,
On January 8, 2022, I will celebrate 50 years of continuous sobriety.
I want to share with you my experiences and exposure with the Beachcomber Recovery reviews, which I consider to be the best treatment program in the US.
Here I will review my journey over the last 50 years. I was a daughter of 2 alcoholic high school dropouts, married at 16, had a baby at 17, another at 18, at 19 another at 22 and today all are alcoholics.
I started drinking in the bars at age 19. Mom and dad drank at home so I reasoned I would not be like them, I’d be different. I was different for sure. I was worse,
When I finally got sober I went and got my GED and 3 College degrees.
My husband did not like me sober and he left me. I left NJ and relocated to Florida, where I met my 2nd husband. He introduced me to the Beachcomber founder, Jim Bryan, the most incredible man. He hired me as a counselor. I was so impressed with the content of their program material. I remember saying to my AA Sponsor “I could not have written anything better, it was so perfect”
I had a very high opinion of myself in those days, LOL.
I was even more impressed with the love and dedication of the staff.
I learned so much about trust, honesty, and integrity and I was one of their counselors.
I graduated from Beachcomber to start my own private practice. I owe much to the Beachcomber for my growth, but even more for saving my son’s life.
My second born was using and dealing and growing his own poisons.
He was about to be arrested and was in bad physical health and called and
asked me if he could come to FL. I said only if he went to Beachcomber and he said yes, so I knew he was at the bottom. I am happy to tell you as I write this that he has been clean and sober for 30 plus years and has become one of my best friends.
Also, my adopted son went to Beachcomber and he too has been sober 40 plus years now.
Lastly and extremely important, for over 40 years I have sent many people to Beachcomber rehab reviews and the most important thing I can share with you is that they all have stayed sober!
I stated earlier how great the program content is, well I just have to say with those results, I WAS RIGHT
In closing, I want to say in 5 days I turn 80 and am blessed in more ways than I can mention. If you know someone with an alcohol or drug problem
